GRUMMAN AIRCRAFT DATA PLAQUES |
Every manufacturer of aircraft places in the cockpit of their aircraft a data plaque that describes the origin and certain specifications pertaining to that aircraft. The following represent some of the various styles of data plaques generated by Grumman during its sixty-five years of excellence. |
From 1930 to 1940 data plaques like the one pictured at right would be found in aircraft produced at Baldwin, Valley Stream, and Farmingdale. |
From 1940 to 1970 such products as the F6F Hellcat, and the first Lunar Modules sported this style of data plaques in their cockpits. |
From 1970 to 1994 the last production aircraft of the Grumman Corporation, such as F-14 Tomcats and A-6 Intruders, carried this data plaque proudly into battle. |
